Moriyama Kasuri Koubou & Associates Exhibition

The Moriyama Kasuri Koubou has operated since the end of Japan's Edo Period and now 5th generation Tetsuhiro Moriyama uses elaborate kasuri dyed fabrics to create patterns enriched with a deep, blurred indigo effect that evokes fascination in those who see them. Among the artisan crafts on display and available to purchase are kasuri garments that are smooth to the touch, hand-carved glass tableware, Takeo ware bowls and plates as well as handspun "hanaori" stoles.
