Lifestyle of Craftsmanship Exhibition

They have been producing kurume kasuri woven and dyed fabric since the early Meiji period—roughly 150 years. Now they propose adapting kurume kasuri woven and dyed fabric, and the traditional craft of makie gold flaked lacquer, to meet modern needs. Among the items on display and available to purchase are kurume-kasuri shirts and skirts with original color patterns, and broaches, earrings, and buttons produced in collaboration with makie artists.
