『 HAPPY CRAFT DAYS ! 』

Co-hosted by Fukuoka prefecture, a public interest incorporated foundation Acros Fukuoka and Takumi Gallery

To commemorate the first anniversary of the Takumi Gallery renovation project, we are thrilled to announce our special event centered around the theme of “celebration”!Don’t miss the sales event and exhibition featuring traditional crafts from Fukuoka and what's more, we produce a wide variety of demonstrations, hands-on activities.Gallery2 on the second floor is going to stage an exhibition featuring Iwaimono (congratulatory gift for auspicious occasions) which explains customs and traditions of celebration.On weekends, various hands-on activities related to Iwaimono will be held.Whether as gifts or cherished keepsakes, these activities are sure to delight and inspire!All these hands-on activities are available by reservation only, so make sure to book early.Feel free to explore and participate in these engaging activities!

[hands-on activity]■Hakata Mizuhiki envelope■

Hakata Mizuhiki envelope is completed by attaching an abalone knot you made to a Tokyoori(gold sealed) envelope. This activity is designed for beginners.
Choose your favorite abalone knot pattern and Mizuhiki to assemble your one and only Hakata Mizuhiki envelope!

Capacity: 4 People for each class(reservation only, A preschool child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. )
Lecturer: Kiyo Araki(traditional craftsman for Hakataori)

[Hands-on activity] ■Lucky charm swag■
In this activity, you can make a swag decorated with hinoki cypress leaves, tea plant and rice plant from Yame.All matiriels are from Fukuoka.
