The Takatori head family, while presiding over the official kiln for the Kuroda domain, has preserved over 400 years of tradition in their craftsmanship. As the single direct line of descent passing on its unique techniques from one generation to the next, such as glaze mixing and firing with kindling, they continue to create ceramic masterworks with pride. As well as tea bowls, there are also "Neo Takatori" works that merge the traditional with the metropolitan on display and for sale here.
